The Can-Can is an energetic dance that is very physically demanding.
It became a popular music-hall dance in Paris the 1840s, where it remains loved as a classic example of cabaret genre to this day.
It is now traditionally associated with a chorus line of female dancers, whose most famous activities are the vigorous manipulation of skirts and petticoats, along with high kicks, splits, and cartwheels.
